I’m starting to make a habit of this FREE DOWNLOAD hijinx. Last time around POST/POP gave you 1 free song… this time how about 26 FREE SONGS? Not only that, its the much-hyped collaboration compilation album I did with Reddit’s R/Cassetteculture back in March. the tapes SOLD OUT but I get asked about it all the time, so why not just have it!
listen above and click download OR click on the below quote that a girl once said to me on a train:
“What are you looking at? Did you buy me? I said did you buy me? Exactly. So don’t look at me then innit?”
There were 26 brilliant bands on this compilation and I suggest you put each one of them into the search engine of your choice and go listen to everything they have ever done. They are from all over the world, Scotland, Canada, UK, America, Philippines and everywhere inebetween. All genres of music are represented and all bands frequent the dark corners of Reddit’s Cassette Culture where they try really hard not to get downvoted.
It was stupidly ambitious thing to release a 26 song album of brand new bands 1 month into starting the label and it taught me alot. Mostly, never to use TAPELINE ever again, but partly that sometimes strangers can be cool.
As it is now officially SUMMER, POST/POP is spoiling you. Not content to release new tapes by APPLE EYES, PEPA KNIGHT and soon to be announced BEGINNERS, here is a new one from our fave popstar HETTIE!
There is an EP coming out later this year, and you may have heard a few tracks previewed on my radio show (PHOENIX98FM Every Sunday 4-6PM!) and its wonderful. All songs produced by the musical genius that is KENNY LEE! Until then, here is a FREE DOWNLOAD of HETTIE’s cover of one of my favourite 80s songs, “RUSH HOUR”. It’s SO catchy!
It’s a free download but if you want to donate to Hettie’s “I need a new guitar and my favorite guitar strings” fund, then donate a few quid, as it all goes straight to her paypal!
Check out more HETTIE stuff using the below links:
Oh and while we are here, here’s a gallery of a recent gig where HETTIE supported another POST/POP favourite, NO CARS! at London’s PAPER DRESS BOUTIQUE. Yes, that is Haruna from NO CARS on stilts and yes that is her boyfriend dressed like a Harajuku girl.
(gallery to come!)
