In a post-Guardians of the Galaxy world where Walkmans (the correct plural of Walkman) are now being sold on ebay for $800 (and $600 for the broken ones! seriously!) the little tape labels out there have received a little more attention. The fact Starlord’s choice of Walkman isn’t a very good example of a Sony Walkman at all (seriously Starlord, a TPS-L2? You were abducted in 1988, not 1979!) doesn’t matter. Suddenly, the corners of the internet where Tapeheads hide and scurry from the light, are the places to be. Questions like “hey, I am new to this forum, I have a woolworths cassette player from 1993, can someone tell me what an AA battery is?” are going to be myriad, but I say, the more people banging on about cassette culture the better.
I’m going to keep this sort and sweet as I will be posting ALOT of updates this week with some amazing upcoming releases but thought I should give you guys the heads up.
This is the new POST/POP logo which will feature on EVERYTHING from now on. Every subsequent POST/POP release in all formats, stickers, badges and (the most requested thing of all) t-shirts!
The logo is designed by a great new illustrator named Jamie Taylor from the UK. I was browsing threadless and I saw that he submitted this wolf to a competition and frantically searched for his email address. His floating wolf head (it’s actually a Wolfbra, half wolf/half zebra – notice the slash?!) is the perfect replacement for my rather basic wolf silhouette.
The first release to have the new wolf logo will be “Adventures in Home Taping” out on March 26th.
There is also a colour version of this which is fantastic.
I bet you are wondering why the POST/POP logo is a wolf right? Well that’s a story for another time.
Stay tuned for some big news next week!!
p.s. if you want the upcoming ltd edition POST/POP tshirts you are going to have to be fast as – like everything on this site – it’s incredibly limited. maybe I should have some sorta mailing list!
